Unfortunately, a lot things happen in Charlie's personal life that made my heart hurt for him. 'Each and every day with him was a gift.' So, business wise, things are going good for Charlie, but the other parts in his life, not so much. Charlie gets good news when it seems they could have steady income from a potential cattle buyer, and he could possibly be elected in the board elections. Sure, there were a few who looked down on him because of his sexual orientation, but for the most part, the majority of the farmers respected him for the simple fact that he was a farmer just like them. He knew my every secret, my every mood, dream and need, he’d seen the worst side of me, and yet he still sat beside me.“Īfter Charlie came out to all the farmers in the community, Charlie was expecting a lot of backlash.

I've grown to love these characters: Ma, George, Billy, Nara, Trudy, Bacon, the red dirt, Sutton Station. Standing right there in the middle of the desert, surrounded by vast open plains of red, red dirt, with touch, his kiss, his smell, was.home.Ĭharlie's voice is genuine and heartfelt, the writing honest and true.
While Charlie is now a much more confident and self-assured man than he was when he first met Trav, he still frets and doesn't believe that he can have it all. I told him if missin' him were miles, I'd have gone as far as the moon and back. Charlie has to be strong enough on his own, and he has to trust in Travis' love. There are tears to be shed before the joy. "I can't be that Charlie.not without you." "I only encouraged you to do all those things because I want the world to see the Charlie I see.Because he's really kinda great." They are each other's rock, and they don't let go.
Life is full of surprises and revelations, but Charlie and Trav weather the ups and downs with grace. As if that weren't enough, a stranger arrives at the station, someone Charlie should remember but doesn't. But Ma is feeling rundown and tired, and Trudy and Bacon have something big to say. Nugget and Charlie are a thing, you see, and they kind of steal the show here.Ĭharlie has a potential major buyer for the cattle, which would bring a steady income to the station, and a board election coming up. This was such a lovely denouement to one of the best M/M series of all time.
